Using a Colon Cleansing Enema

An enema is the process of forcing water into the rectum in order to create more frequent bowel movements or for colon cleansing purposes. This is an ancient process used to treat all sorts of conditions by cleansing the colon. Low pressure pushes either clear water or herbal water through the anus and can replenish the amounts of good bacteria in the colon or to treat serious illness. A personally performed enema on a Colema board is called a Colema while an enema performed by a professional service is called Colonics. It is the basic use of fluids to wash waste matter from the colon. The water can reach every part of the colon with practice and if applied correctly.

Using an enema for colon cleansing can take anything from fifteen minutes to two hours as the process can be repeated until the colon is clean. There are many different types of equipment and extreme care must be taken when colon cleansing using an enema as damage can be easily done to the rectum and colon. Enema bags, tubes, clamps, nozzles and liquids are generally used for a complete colon cleansing experience. The water can be pure or else mixed with a variety of ingredients such as coffee, herbs, probiotics, vinegar and salts.

Colon Cleansing Diet: What’s Real and What’s Hype

Finding a colon cleansing diet can seem like searching for the fountain of youth or looking for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow – a long journey that only leaves you tired and hungry. There are many recommendations for an effective colon cleansing diet. Some are just plain hype and others actually work.

Fiber – The Cornerstone

A genuine and effective colon cleansing diet is not comprised of a series of quick fixes stringed together to make for one rapid, drastic change. Rather, it is the altering of one’s lifestyle and eating habits that will lend the greatest benefits. If a colon needs to be cleansed, then it is certainly lacking or deficient in one key component – fiber.
